Covelo is made by Capstone Social LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run analytics or tracking of any kind.
Your account. Your name, your email address, and the sign-in identity from whichever method you use: Google, Apple, or an email and password.
What you create in the app. Calendar events including titles, times, locations, and notes. Tasks and shopping items. Routines. Kind notes you send or receive. Important dates and milestones. Check-in ratings.
Your relationships. Who belongs to each of your bonds, when you last spent meaningful time together, and an internal signal Covelo uses to tell you when a relationship may be drifting. That signal is never shown as a score and is never shared with anyone else.
Your interests. The preferences you choose during setup, used to suggest ideas.
Notification tokens. If you allow notifications, an identifier for each device so we can send you alerts. This identifies a device, not a person, and we never use it for anything else.
Only to make the app work: showing your calendar, syncing shared plans between people in the same bond, sending the notifications you asked for, and telling you when a relationship has been quiet for a while.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train any AI system.
Personal events, personal tasks, and personal routines are private to you. Nobody else in the app can see them.
Anything you share with a bond, including shared events, shared lists, and kind notes, is visible to the people in that bond. That is the point of a bond, but it is worth being explicit about.
Your individual check-in rating is private. The other people in your bond can see that you responded, not what number you chose.
Your information is stored using Google Firebase, on servers in the United States. Firebase is our only third-party service provider. It stores and delivers data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.
Access is restricted by security rules so that only you can read your private data, and only members of a bond can read that bond's shared data.
You can request deletion of your account and all of your data by emailing matt@joincovelo.com from the address on your account. We will delete it within 30 days.
Content you shared into a bond, such as a kind note you sent to someone else, may remain visible to that person after your account is deleted, in the same way a text message you sent stays on the recipient's phone.
Covelo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your information is handled, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Continuing to use Covelo after that means you accept the updated policy.
